Life+Style Television Makes Debut in Denver
DENVER, CO – VISTA TV Denver has announced the soft launch of an exciting new local lifestyle TV network that will begin airing Saturday on Comcast Channel 19. The upscale network will be first of its kind to hit the Denver market, offering fresh, innovative programming to viewers wanting to experience all that Denver has to offer.
“We have been in development for two years and it’s finally time to unveil what we think is something truly unique for local TV,” said Joel Spicola, principal of VISTA TV Denver “VISTA TV will be an entertaining, informative look at Denver while at the same time offering a cost-effective advertising venue for local businesses. For about the same budget as a buy of thirty or sixty second commercials, advertisers have from three to five minutes to present an up-close and personal message about themselves and their services.
For its launch, VISTA TV will air from 9 to 11:00 am on Saturdays and Sundays and repeat several times throughout the week. The cutting edge network will feature an extensive array of programming for all lifestyles. It will provide in-depth, sometimes personal information on Denver’s newest, hippest, hottest and long-favorite destinations. Segments will feature everything from food, nightlife, art and music to shopping, fashion, wellness, weekend escapes and family living. VISTA producers promise shows that are as unique and colorful as the Mile High City itself.
“We like to think of it as a Denver television revolution. Our expert hosts will offer viewers unprecedented back stage access to the activities and people that make Denver such an amazing place to live and work,” said Spicola.
Spicola went on to name some of the expert hosts as Denver media personalities Howie Drummond, Erica Golding, Erika Monet, and Rob Reese. For the initial weekend’s line-up, the VISTA team will explore places like Jing Restaurant, Landmark Theaters, The Tavern Downtown, Root Down, Beta Night Club and The Perfect Pedal – just to name a few.
In highlighting some of the specialty programs, VISTA identifies Shakers, short segments featuring intimate conversations with Denver taste-makers and style setters from entertainment, music, art, business, politics and more. FOOD Ink, hosted by local radio personality Drummond, will be a lesson in bringing gourmet taste to home cooking.
VISTA TV will launch new segments on a monthly basis and will add categories in response to viewer requests. A robust assortment of series programming is slated to come on line later this year and will include: Denver LIVE with its unique live music and concert reviews; Fork & Cork, featuring fine dining, top chefs and their carefully guarded creations; and VISTA/Real Estate, a tour of Denver’s best neighborhoods.
Unique to the project, according to Spicola, is the ability to integrate the TV programming with a web presence. “All of the segments will be viewable 24/7 at www.vistatvdenver.com and can be revisited whenever additional information is needed,” he noted.
Comcast Channel 19 is presently available to all metro area subscribers regardless of their monthly cable package. It can be viewed in over 550,000 homes in the Denver Metro area (one-third of the DMA) with a reach from Boulder to Castle Rock. The channel location is considered to be a prime spot in the cable line-up – just four channels away from MTV (Channel 23) and three channels away from Discovery (Channel 16).
In coming months, markets to include Fort Collins and Colorado Springs will be added. “Ultimate plans are for VISTA TV to air simultaneously up and down the Front Range,” Spicola concluded.
